I know this has been discussed here a while back.  It was displayed quite differently by making a coil with a hole in the center.  Pull some through, & around and viola!!  It looks cool, & works pretty well till they get damp, then freeze & you can't get the strap apart when trying to off load..

I find this method to be quicker & looks real nice too.  What you do is right before you ratchet them down, you fold the tail over on itself & leave like a foot of slack for the spool take up.

Then where the bolt of the ratchet handle is connected there is usually a small sewn in
loop.  Tuck the folded tail in between the loop.  I've found the Ancra short ends usually have the largest & easiest to use sewn in loops..

Crank it down snug, & fold the little excess into the ratchet to secure..

This is just a 10' lasso strap pictured, but I've stuffed 20' or so in the loops before..

Don't forget to wave to the DOT as you cruise through the bypass lane cause you look to professional to be stopped!!!

This is also the same way I do it.I saw another hotshot do it this way once,so I tried it and it has definitely been the best method so far.Lol,About waving at the DOT as you go through the bypass lane, here in Texas it doesn't matter how fresh and clean you are rolling, they will bypass all the big trucks and stop the hotshot's to do level 1's.

Haha, you're so right about the DOT.  I was just being a smart ass.  I get inspected too all the time, at least once every trip out it seems.  Guy got me last week in NC on I95.  Seems every time it's a level 1 also.  Of all the level 1's, this was the first time he actually pulled out the creeper & rolled around under my rig..  I asked what he was checking since both my truck & trailer are disc braked.  Said he was feeling them for warmth, & making sure there was no rust on the rotors..  Funny too how they just happen to ALWAYS be out of inspection stickers.  I've only been lucky enough to acquire 2 so far..

Lol,I had a trooper pull the "out of stickers" on me once,so everytime i got pulled over after that I would give them the inspection slip, which is just as good for everyone but the troopers working the Ozona,Tx-Odessa,TX area. They actually try to reinspect you.
