Here's a list of Insurance agents by State that some of the guys here use. You may find better rates out there with other insurance Agents, however the service might not be near as good.

Not to many Insurance agents that can write policies for truckers based outside of there own State. So a Insurance Agent based in CA may not be able to write a policy for a trucker in ID or vise versa. The reason is because each State has their own insurance laws and the Agent must be licensed with each State they want to write policies in.

When your asking for a Insurance quote make sure you have the Agent get you one from Wilshire. Several of the guys here use Wilshire and I'm confident they'll treat you right.

We've heard just about every nightmare story out there and let me tell you there's a lot of them. It's very important to know exactly what your getting before you lay out any cash.

There's a lot to know about the type of insurance needed to do what we do. A lot of Insurance agents can act like used car salesman, these agents aren't like that. Your welcome to call us and ask if we've heard anything negative about a different company you may be getting a quote from. This is our list of GOOD Agents, not bad agents. It's the Agent you'll deal with mostly when you need something, not the actual insurance company.

In my book these Agents are safe to deal with. We talk to these companies everyday so mentioning Gary or M&H Logistics could possibly make a difference in the quote they give you.

I'll add more agents to this list when I can.

More info,

It's critical that a Owner Operator gets placed with a A rated insurance provider. Anything less and many Brokers and Shippers will refuse to work with you.

It's also critical you get placed with a on shore insurance provider. Insurance companies that are based outside the US have a tendecy to not pay off in the event of a claim. I learned the hard way you won't be able to find a Lawyer that'll take a case against an off shore insurance company. The reason is they can't force a Off shore insurance company to appear in a US court. Paying payments on a totaled out truck, damaged freight, or someones medical expences isn't something you want to experience.

Support from the agent is also very important in this business. You need a insurance agent that is on the ball who can get you certs, additional named, and even up your insurance limits in a moments notice. If you get a lazy agent you'll have a hard time getting a load on.

If the insurance  quote sounds to good to be true, there's usually a reason for it. Get everythiong in writing before you give any money up.
